Sangria on the Burg | Fusion Flavors [Eats]

I came for the sangria...I left with a big smile and stretched pants!

My cousin and I decided to meet for drinks after work, so I suggested Sangria on the Burg since I heard really good reviews from some friends.

We started off with a Sangria flight, which includes four different samples of sangria. We tried the Frozen Red, the White (my personal favorite), the Jameson Ginger and the Grapefruit. As an appetizer, we order the Chips and Queso, (this was in a daily special menu, but it had chili, avocado, onion, cilantro and of course cheese). It was really tasty and by this point, I was already satisfied.

As an entrée, we ordered the top two Tacos and top two Sliders per our waiter’s recommendation. The tacos we ordered were the Skirt Steak Taco (charred corn, cream-mayo, chile limón, queso fresco and cilantro) and the Smoked Brisket Taco (pasilla onion strings and BBQ sauce).  I would just like to say now that they were both amazing! Also, the tortillas were handmade, which as a Mexican-Taco lover, is very important to me. Out of the two tacos entrees I ordered, I would say my favorite was the Skirt Steak Taco.

As for the sliders, they were pretty amazing as well. We ordered the Dirty Sanchez (fresh ground beef, poblano, jack cheese, guac, fritos, chorizo salsa and bacon-bean puree) and the TX Cheese Steak (shaved brisket, pepper jack, grilled peppers and onions with natural Au jus).

To accompany our entrees, we also placed an order of the Triple Mac & Cheese (tender mini penne with Oaxaca cheese, cheddar, and jack cheese mornay sauce). I think this was my favorite thing! It was just incredible, I can honestly say that it is the best Mac and Cheese in town! I just absolutely loved it. At this point, I was ready to unbutton my pants and take a nap, but I persevered.

After regaining my composure, we decided to put in an order for dessert! The manager suggested the Arroz con Leche Bites, so that is what we went with... Definitely another hit! I couldn't eat anymore but it tasted so good that I just kept going!

Sangria on the burg is a fusion of Texan, Mexican and Spanish flavors! This place is on the top 10 of my local restaurants. Also, they have happy hour from 3-7!

Sangria on the burg is located on Fredericksburg street, hence the name "on the burg", their address is 5115 Fredericksburg Rd, San Antonio, TX 78229.
