Recreating Outfits and Being Conscious

I started reading a book called Fashionopolis. It talks about the history of "fast fashion" and how it plays a big impact on the environment and community.  All the inhumane labor practices and contamination these companies' produce so we can be able to wear a garment a few times and then toss it. Is it worth it? Well, as I learn more about it, I don't think so.

I love fast fashion, I have shopped at stores like Zara, H&M and Forever21 thousands of times. I am guilty of shopping and tossing items in a period of a year. Don't get me wrong, I will keep shopping at those stores, just not as often. On the other hand, I love thrift shopping and buying used luxury goods online.

I really enjoy browsing on Instagram and looking for style inspiration. I've seen several bloggers recreate outfits and I think it's awesome! Even better recreating the outfits with stuff you already have in your closet. It doesn't have to be exactly the same. Maybe just the same colors or the same style and different colors. It's up to you! I encourage you to do the same and think twice before shopping "fast fashion" (Do you really need it?) or try to wear what you already have in your closet more often.

Ironically for this outfit, I am wearing a Zara top and H&M skirt! The shoes are Franco Sarto.
I got inspiration from Bettina Looney @bettinalooney.  What do you think?
