Layered Lace Top

I read somewhere that FASHION is what you buy, but STYLE is what you do with it. That has been stuck in my head for a while and it encouraged me to mix and match different items and use what I have in my closet. I have always had the idea that with some good basics in your closet, you can have endless options.
With that being said, I have had this lace top hanging in my closet for quite some time. I wore it once with a black tank top underneath but I didn't like it 100%. I also tried wearing it with a white and nude tank top under it and nothing seemed to look right. I also didn't have the courage to toss it because I really like it. I would say I had it hanging in my closet for about a year or more. I kept thinking that it would look better if I wore it with the same color underneath. The only top that matched the color was this tie-neck blouse. I actually featured this top on the Brocade Booties post, (which I am also wearing).

At first, I was hesitant but then I asked my husband and he thought it was only one top. I was happy that at last, I get to wear this cute lace top.  Then my mind kept spinning and creating more ideas of how to wear the lace top with other items from my closet. I usually don't like layering, because I think it makes me look bigger, but now that I have tried it I am hooked. Maybe I will do a Mix and Match post on the lace top.  I was going to wear the top with some black pants but ended up wearing this leather skirt from ZARA. It is cold but then I thought about all those bloggers that live in cold places and sucked it up. I actually got a compliment about my booties this morning at the gym (no I don't workout on boots, I was getting ready for work) and told them I got them at Target. I was afraid they were no longer available. I checked and they are on sale! The coat I am wearing is super old, I got it a ZARA a while back and never use it. I am glad I am wearing all my old stuff.

Also, while researching on layering tops I found out that Glamour Magazine wrote an article about the most wearable trends for NYFW Fall 2018 and Layered Tops is one of them. I can't agree more with what Glamour Magazine mentions about layered Tops, "We're always here for a trend we don't need to shop for". I love finding new ways to wear my closet and not breaking the bank! Don't be afraid to go out of the norm and wear it! People will judge you no matter what.
